💖 VALENTINES DAY IDEAS 💖
With Valentines Day just around the corner, I wanted to share with you some of our favorite family activities that help us feel more connected and loved, as well as our favorite food, treats, and school handouts that aren’t treats 😉
ACTIVITIES
CUPIDS CAFE 🧑🍳
This tradition was first introduced to us by my MIL who I believe found if from the Dating Diva’s.
We have since adapted it to fit our family’s needs, but I believe you can still find the original one on their website under “Cupid’s Crazy Café” if you’re curious 🙂
The idea behind this is to create a menu using “Valentines Code Words” to spark fun and get into the holiday mood.
I start by deciding on the Menu for the night and use that as my decoder that only my daughter and I see. (my 8 year old loves to be the waitress for the night so I let her join me in creating the menu options)
When it’s time for dinner, we hand out the “Menu Options” to the guests and allow them to choose from the code words given.
The kids get a kick out of ordering and not knowing what they are getting until they see it on their plate…my husband not so much 😆
It’s a pretty fun tradition overall!
I’ve included a FREE Download for you to create your own, as well as an example of what ours typically looks like.

FAMILY GAMES 🃏
COMPLIMENT DOOR HEARTS
This is a great way to highlight the good in your family and help each member feel loved.
Start by cutting out colored hearts (check out the Free Valentine’s pack download for one done for you)
Place them on the doors of each of your family members rooms the night before Valentines.
In the morning, each kid goes around and writes something in the hearts that that person does well, something they love about them, or a fun memory they have of that person.
“DON’T EAT PETE”
This is one of my kids favorites that they play at their grandparent’s house.
One person goes into the other room while the rest of the party places the treat/popcorn (or whatever food you want to have there) on the pictures.
The party then chooses which one is going to be “Pete”
Once they’ve decided, they let the person in the other room come back.
The person will then start to eat the treats one by one…if they go to pick up “Pete”, the party yells “DON’T EAT PETE!” and that person’s turn is over.
We repeat the game until everyone has gone.
I’ve included a FREE download for this game as well in the Valentines Activity Pack.
POPCORN OLYMPICS
This is another one of our family favorites. (great played as a “Minute to win it” game)
We start by making a bowl of air-popped popcorn and then set up our games.
MOUTH TOSS
Have 2 players stand at marked distance apart from each other and take turns throwing popcorn into each other's mouths.
Take 1 step back after each successful toss and catch.
The team that gets the furthest without dropping any popcorn on the ground wins.
STRAW BLOW
Place a piece of popcorn at the end of a table for each player.
Using a straw, blow the popcorn to the other end of the table.
The first popcorn to the finish, wins.
CUP DROP
Stand on a chair and drop pieces of popcorn into a cup on the ground.
Try to get as many pieces as possible into the target.
The one with the most, wins.
DISTANCE THROW
Throw a piece of popcorn as far as you can.
Furthest throw wins.
BALANCE RELAY
Divide into 2 teams and give each team a cup or plate of popcorn.
Have each player take turns walking with the cup of popcorn on their heads, across the room, around a chair and back to their team. (can shorten it depending on the age group)
Play for a specific amount of time ~1-2 minutes.
The team with the most popcorn left at the end, wins.

This is one of my favorite and affordable heart shaped Waffle Makers you see in the video:
CLASSROOM HANDOUTS 🏫
Every year our kids come home with an invitation to bring a treat or something to share with the class on Valentine’s.
I’m all for sharing and contributing!
I’m also all for sending my kids with something other than a treat.
25+ treats x 3 kids = a whole bunch of cheap candy we don’t need, if I’m being honest…
Instead, I like to send my kids with something tangible that doesn’t leave their friends stomachs upset and them bouncing off the walls from all the dyes/synthetics. (you’re welcome parents 😉)
Here are some of my top favorites:

I hope you have an enjoyable Valentines with your loved ones and found some new fun ideas to try out this year!
